Six police officers are being investigated over their alleged involvement in a disturbance at a gay nightspot in Manchester.
The group, which includes an inspector and a sergeant, are thought to have got into a row with bouncers after being refused admission to a bar in the city's gay village.
The police were called after the argument escalated but no-one was arrested.
An internal investigation has been launched, Greater Manchester Police confirmed on Thursday.
Fire exit
The disturbance happened at about 0120 BST on 2 February, but details of the investigation have only just emerged.
The six off-duty officers are thought to have tried to get into the Cruz 101 bar through a fire exit despite being refused admission.
The spokeswoman said: "Police were called to a disturbance at Cruz 101 bar in Princess Street which allegedly involved a number of off-duty officers from Greater Manchester Police.
"No arrests were made and no injuries reported. The matter is now the subject of an internal investigation."
It is not thought any damage was done at the club, which is owned by drag queen Foo Foo Lamarr.
