Police hunt after abduction attempt
Police say they have no doubt a man made a serious attempt to abduct a nine-year-old girl in south Oxfordshire.

The man grabbed her arm as she was walking home in Grove on Sunday morning. She managed to struggle free and run home, and the attacker ran off.

The girl was walking home from the nearby Q8 garage, at the junction of Cane Lane and Main Street when the man spoke to her and grabbed her.

He is described as mid-thirties, five feet eight inches tall, clean shaven and with short black hair.

He was wearing gold rimmed sunglasses, black trousers and a black waist length leather jacket.

Paul Anthem, from Abingdon CID said: "Obviously we are treating this as a very serious incident and as an attempted abduction and we urge any member of public who may have seen this man to contact us."
