'Restore bus route' plea
Jersey bus
Bus route 22 in the Longueville area has been scrapped
A Jersey Deputy is due to walk the distance she says her parishioners will have to go now their bus route has been scrapped.

St Saviour Deputy Celia Scott Warren says commuters in the Longueville area face a long walk now that Route 22 has gone.

The Deputy has been campaigning to keep the route because she feels it is a public service that should be kept.

But the Environment and Public Services Committee says it is not used by enough people and consequently does not deserve support.

Deputy Scott Warren says the earliest bus into town through Longueville is now at 0930 BST and commuters wishing to travel earlier than that face a long walk to the nearest service at Plat Douet School.

She is due to walk the route herself on Monday to see how far it is and how long it takes.

She has been in contact with the vice president of the committee, who she says is considering other possibilities.
