Woman attacked by knifeman

Police are investigating an attack on a woman in a Cornwall on Sunday night.

A 27-year-old woman was approached by a man in Poltair Park in St Austell as she walked home alone just after 2200 BST.

The man then threatened her with what appeared to be a knife.

The woman was not seriously injured, but police say she was very shaken by the incident.

The attacker was described as being 5 foot 8 inches (1.72 metres) tall, of chubby build and was wearing dark clothing.

The park is still cordoned off and officers are to carry out a search of it on Monday.

Police are appealing for any witnesses of the incident to contact them.
