Deck chairs on beach
A total of 332 UK beaches will receive the award
Five beaches in Somerset have been named as among the best in the country.

The Beaches at Berrow, Brean, Brean Cove, Burnham-on-Sea and Weston-super-Mare are set to receive Seaside Awards, organised by the charity Environmental Campaigns (ENCAMS).

To receive an award, beaches must have facilities such as showers, first aid and a lifeguard.

Bathing water is also checked before the Seaside Award flag can be flown on the beach.

And dogs must be banned during the summer months.

A total of 332 beaches in the UK are receiving awards this year - an all time record.
