Police in Indian-administered Kashmir say at least six people have been killed in separate incidents.
Suspected Muslim gunmen shot dead three Hindu shepherds in a remote forest, and Indian troops shot and killed three suspected militants.
A police spokesman said the bullet-ridden bodies of the three shepherds were recovered in the Toba Dhar area, southeast of Srinagar.
In other incidents, two militants were killed in gun battles and one was shot dead by soldiers as he tried to enter the territory from Pakistan.
On Saturday, Kashmiri militants vowed to resist Pakistani efforts to close their offices in Pakistan-administered Kashmir.
