Children 'attacked by three women'
Chaddesden Park
The park is a popular spot for family days out
Three young children have spoken of how they were punched, slapped and bitten by women in a busy park.

The two boys and a girl aged between 10 and 12 were too frightened to be identified and say they will not go back to Chaddesden Park in Derby without their parents.

They described how first a woman approached them and began slapping and biting on of the boys and say it was unprovoked.

She was then joined by two other women who had been sitting in a red car nearby in the late afternoon on Sunday.

One victim said: "She slapped me round the face and I was really scared and said 'I didn't do anything' then she slapped me again."

Another of the children was then targeted.

"I went to try and stop the fight and the girl tried to bite me and kept biting me twice.

"I don't want to go ever again now, only with my mum and dad."

The attackers are described as two women in their 20s and one in her teens.

Nothing was taken although one of the children's mobile phones was snatched before he grabbed it back, said the third victim.

He said one attacker told them "they were all dead" if they turned round to get the registration number of the car.

Derbyshire Police have said they are taking the children's claims seriously.
