Man injured in skydive
John Radcliffe Hospital, Oxford
The man was airlifted to the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford
A man is in a serious condition in hospital after his parachute apparently failed to open during a skydive.

The man plummeted to the ground at Hinton airfield, near Brackley, on the border between Oxfordshire and Northamptonshire.

Paramedics were called at 1040 BST after reports of a man suffering an accident after jumping out of a plane.

The parachutist, believed to be in his 60s, was airlifted to the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford.

He is said to have sustained multiple injuries, especially to his head and back.

A full inquiry has begun into the accident.

Last June, a skydiver and a glider pilot were killed in a collision at the airfield.
