A 37-year-old man has been charged with murder following the discovery of a woman's body in a flat in Leeds.

Rajinder Boughan, 34, was discovered at her home in Cliffe Park Crescent in Wortley on 28 May.

Mrs Boughan was last seen alive when she was dropped off by friends following a function in Birmingham on 24 May.

A post-mortem examination revealed she had died as a result of asphyxiation.

The man, who was arrested in Folkestone in Kent, is due to appear before Leeds Magistrates on Wednesday.

Police say a 22-year-old woman who was being held on suspicion of assisting an offender has been released without charge.
