Rock climber dies at beauty spot
Matlock
Pic Tor overlooks the Peak District town of Matlock
A 53-year-old climber has died after apparently falling at a beauty spot in the Peak District.

Two other climbers found the body of Colin James Bostock at the foot of Pic Tor, a 30 metre (100 feet) climb, near Matlock in Derbyshire at about 1150 BST on Saturday.

Mr Bostock, who lived in Belper, was discovered with climbing ropes at the tor, which lies on the River Derwent between the war memorial at Starkholmes and Matlock Bath.

A Derbyshire Police spokesman said Mr Bostock was an experienced climber who had set out to climb the peak on his own earlier that day.

"It is believed he fell while making his descent."

He said a full report is being prepared for the coroner and there are no suspicious circumstances.
