Nightclub stabbing hunt goes on
Etc nightclub, Peterlee
The stabbing happened outside the nightclub
Enquiries are continuing into a stabbing outside a County Durham nightclub in which two men were seriously injured.

The men - aged 28 and 25 - were slashed in the attack outside Etc nightclub, in Peterlee, at 0040 BST on Monday.

The younger man has since been released from hospital while the 28-year-old is in a stable condition in the University Hospital of Hartlepool.

Police say they have now spoken to both men, who were slashed across the throat, chest and back by a man wielding a knife.

A spokesman for Durham Police said, although both men had been in the nightclub, it is believed they did not know each other.

The incident began when the 28-year-old became involved in an argument inside the club with another man which then continued outside.

The 25-year old man - who was standing nearby - attempted to intervene when he saw the older man being attacked.

Anyone with any information is asked to contact Peterlee police.
