Man in court for murder

Police are appealing for information
A 38-year-old man has appeared before magistrates in Port Talbot charged with murder.

Thomas Pike of Skewen has been remanded in custody until 25 April when he will appear at Swansea Crown Court.

It is alleged he attacked a 26-year-old at a house in Southall Avenue in the town.

Police were called to the house at about 0030BST on Monday.

The 26-year-old who has been named as Michael John Williams from the Port Talbot area was taken to Swansea's Morriston Hospital suffering from neck injuries.

He died in the hospital on Wednesday.

A 20-year-old man was also taken to hospital where he was treated for a leg wound following the incident.
