Engineering work hits new rail route
Midland Mainline train
Midland Mainline is cutting services between Nottingham and London
A new train service, which runs through the East Midlands to Manchester has suffered difficulties after only two weeks.

Work on the railway lines means a third of the services - which should go to Manchester - are terminating at Derby.

The route from London St Pancras through Leicester to Manchester Piccadilly was opened on 18 May.

It was introduced to ease pressure on the West Coast Main Line, which is undergoing a major upgrade.

But Midland Mainline, which runs the service, said the changes were beyond its control.

Their spokesperson, Emma Knight, said the engineering works should not stop people using the service.
