Police are appealing for information
The police have appealed for information after an elderly couple were attacked and robbed in their County Antrim home.

A gang of five men, all believed to be in their 20s, forced their way into the couple's home at the Killyglen Road in Larne just after midnight on Friday.

A struggle ensued between the occupant and one of the intruders and the victim sustained a cut to his face.

The couple managed to escape to a neighbour's house while the gang ransacked a number of rooms before making off with money.

Shocked

Meanwhile, police are appealing for information after an attempted robbery in south Belfast.

The male occupant of a house at Ormonde Park, Finaghy was awakened by an intruder who was pointing a gun at his face at about 0400 BST on Saturday.

The culprit fled empty-handed but the man and his young family were left shocked after their ordeal.

Police are appealing for anyone who may have seen a car in the area with three men on board to contact them.
