A man has been arrested after a 91-year-old woman was beaten up as she lay in bed in Southampton.
Pensioner Ivy Fallon suffered serious facial injuries after she awoke to find an intruder in her flat at Milner Court, Shirley, in the early hours of Sunday, 13 April.
A 35-year-old man was arrested in Southampton on Tuesday afternoon and is being held at Southampton Central Police Station.
Mrs Fallon, who lives alone, woke up just before 0230 BST on Sunday to find a man standing over her bed.
She used her intercom to call for help and was rushed to Southampton General Hospital.
She was treated for shock and heavy bruising to her face and arms.
