Second pavement crash victim dies
Crash scene
The road was sealed off as police investigated the crash
A second 15-year-old has died after a car ploughed into a group of teenagers in Ipswich.

A man arrested when one boy died and another was left seriously injured after a car mounted the pavement on Friday afternoon is still being questioned by Suffolk Police.

The second 15-year-old died in hospital on Saturday.

The friends have not been named.

They were with a girl, thought to be the same age and believed to be the girlfriend of one of the boys, who was unhurt but badly shocked.

Police were looking for the car following an earlier domestic incident in Boynton Road.

No sirens

Officers in a Transit van saw a vehicle matching the description and shortly afterwards the car collided with the boys, said police.

A 33-year-old man was arrested when the car he was driving hit a wall shortly after the incident.

Police said the man was being questioned on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving, failing to stop after an accident and driving under the influence of drink or drugs.

Police said the collision happened after the officers in the van saw the car in Bishop's Hill.

They were not pursuing it and sirens and lights were not being used.

Police are asking anyone who saw the car before the accident to contact them.
