Race was 'badly organised'

Runners say there were too few mile markers
The organisers of the 10K road race in Lincoln have admitted they made mistakes during this year's event.

There have been several complaints from runners who say results were wrong and the race was badly organised.

The seventh annual race, which took place earlier this month, saw more 2,000 people take part.

Complaints from competitors included claims that results and times were incorrect, the Castle Gate giving access to the finishing line was badly congested and the race route had too few mile markers.

Race organisers admit the set-up could have been better and say they will look at making changes for next year.

Among the possible improvements are microchips for runners' shoes so times can be recorded accurately and a reorganisation of the finish line area.
