Pool toddler dies
Withy Pool in Telford Town Park
It is thought the child was playing with two teenage girls at the pool
A toddler pulled from a lake in Telford has died in hospital.

The two-year-old boy was found floating in Withy Pool in Telford Town Park shortly after his parents reported him missing at about 1315 BST on Thursday.

He was resuscitated by paramedics and taken to the town's Princess Royal Infirmary.

Police announced on Saturday morning that the boy had died in the North Staffordshire Royal Infirmary - they are not naming him at this stage.

It is believed the child may have been playing with two teenage girls at the pool and police have repeated an appeal for them come forward as witnesses.

Detectives are not treating the death as suspicious, but are keen to find out if the pair know anything that could help their investigation.

A West Mercia Police spokesman said an inquest into the death of the child was due to open next week.
