City to share in promotion glory
Portsmouth fans
The club last tasted top flight football in 1987
Newly-promoted Portsmouth FC are to let the city share in their celebrations, when they take an open-topped bus ride through the streets.

Pompey were promoted to the top flight for the first time since 1988 after beating Burnley 1-0 on Tuesday.

The win sparked scenes of jubilation at Fratton Park, which will host the likes of Arsenal and Manchester United next season.

The players and management team are to take the trip on 11 May, by which time they hope also to have the first division title wrapped up.

After the game Manager Harry Redknapp said: "The players deserve it and the fans deserve it".

"I'm stunned by what has happened and you can see just what it means to the people of Portsmouth by their reactions at the final whistle. It's just fantastic."
