A tribute to more than 6,000 fisherman lost at sea over the last century has been unveiled in Hull.
The St Andrews Memorial to Hull's Lost Fishermen is a series of books with individual details of each fisherman lost over the last 100 years.
They were handed to the Lord Mayor at a special ceremony at Hull Maritime Museum by the local fishing heritage group, Stand.
The memorial, and a touch-screen display giving public access to details in the books, cost of £15,000 to produce.
It has been paid for through fund-raising and donations from families of the Hessle Road fishing community.
'Lasting tribute'
It is hoped the St Andrews Memorial, which will be on permanent display at the Maritime Museum, will be a focal point for remembrance.
A local historian was commissioned to research the name, age, job description and vessel of every single man that disappeared at sea.
Stand chairman Adam Fowler said: "The memorial is a remarkable tribute to every known lost trawlerman from Hull - it will create a lasting tribute."
