Man hurt in hit-and-run smash
The supermarket carpark
Police are appealing for witnesses
A man was thrown against a wall by a car which failed to stop, leaving him seriously hurt.

The 39-year-old pedestrian suffered spinal injuries in the hit-and-run crash in a supermarket car park in Swindon.

The car which hit him, believed to be a white Ford Escort or Sierra estate, drove off at speed following the collision at 2200 BST on Tuesday.

Police investigating the smash, in the Asda car park in West Swindon, have appealed for witnesses and information.

They believe the car may have sustained damage to the rear of its passenger-side.

Officers are particularly keen to speak to anyone who was waiting for a bus at the bus stop near the West Swindon Centre.

The injured man was taken to the town's Great Western Hospital for treatment.
