Man charged after two-day siege
Scene of siege
Up to 50 police officers have cordoned off the area
A man has appeared in court on Saturday morning following a two-day armed siege in Nottingham.

Gary Reid, 36, appeared at a brief hearing at Nottingham Magistrates' Court.

He was charged with making use of an imitation firearm with intent to resist or prevent lawful arrest.

Earlier this week armed police surrounded a block of flats in the St Ann's area of the city after a man allegedly pulled a gun on officers.

People living nearby were moved from their homes during the stand-off.

It ended peacefully when a man gave himself up to police voluntarily on Thursday afternoon.

Mr Reid was remanded into custody and will reappear at Nottingham Crown Court on 6 June.
