Knicker theft suspect arrested
Pants on a washing line
Police recovered 26 pairs of pants after questioning a teenage boy
A 16-year-old boy is being questioned by police after they recovered 26 pairs of ladies' knickers.

The teenager was arrested in connection with a spate of underwear thefts in Petworth, West Sussex.

Detectives recovered 26 pairs of pants believed to have been taken from garden washing lines in the area.

They have been able to reunite one middle-aged lady with her missing smalls, as well as a swimsuit and a lycra top.

But officers still have 22 white pairs of ladies' knickers which they would like to return.

Women who have had their underwear stolen are asked to contact PC James Scott, of Petworth police.

The suspect is helping police with their inquiries.
