Youth charged over jogger attack

A third youth has been charged in connection with an attack on a man in Merseyside.

Brian Lawrenson, 47, a college lecturer, was injured while out jogging on Acacia Avenue, Huyton, on 11 March.

Merseyside Police said on Friday that 17-year-old from Toxteth has been charged with grievous bodily harm with intent.

He is due to appear before Knowsley magistrates on Wednesday.

Two other youths also face charges in connection with the attack.

A 17-year-old from Wavertree is charged with attempting to pervert the course of justice, witness intimidation and wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.

A 17-year-old from Garston is accused of attempted murder.
