Boy dies after car hits pedestrians
Crash scene
The road was sealed off as police investigated the crash
A 15-year-old boy died after a car being sought by police mounted a pavement and ploughed into three teenagers.

Police said a second 15-year-old boy was critically hurt in the collision, in Ipswich, Suffolk.

A teenage girl with them was unhurt but severely shocked.

Police were looking for the car following an earlier domestic incident in Boyton Road.

The fatal collision was witnessed by a police officer driving a Transit van who spotted the wanted car in Bishop's Hill moments before the tragedy.

Police said a 33-year-old man was arrested when his car hit a wall shortly after the incident involving the boys.

A spokeswoman said he was being questioned on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving, failing to stop after an accident and driving under the influence of drink or drugs.

A police spokeswoman said the collision happened at 1240 BST.

She added that police were not chasing the vehicle and sirens and lights were not being used.

The scene was sealed off as police investigated the collision.
