Alderney's lifeboat is involved in a major air and sea search for a missing diver.
French coastguards are co-ordinating the operation north-east of Alderney.
The diver was diving on a wreck in the channel when the alarm was raised at about 1300 BST.
It is believed the diver failed to surface after taking part in a deep-sea dive on a wreck.

A cross-channel ferry was diverted to help in the search.
