Many arrests made in Operation Target
Police in Peterborough have arrested 239 people as part of an operation to tackle burglary, drug and car crime and muggings.

Operation Target began on 22 May with police urging people to call them if they had any suspicions about crimes being committed in their area.

There have been 75 arrests made for vehicle crime, 45 for burglary and 18 for robbery.

On Friday morning four people were arrested in connection with an assault on a police officer.

Pc Paul Rogers was knocked unconscious and broke his jaw after he went to a disturbance in skateparks in Orton Goldhay.

A police spokesperson said: "The number of arrests we make is increasing on a daily basis.

"The people of Cambridgeshire can be assured we are working around the clock to get these criminals off our streets."
