Steam train may have sparked fire
Firefighter and hose
Six fire engines were called to the scene
A fire in the roof of a thatched cottage could have been started by sparks from a passing steam train.

Firefighters are investigating what started the large blaze at a house in Coombe Florey near Taunton.

Six fire engines were called to the scene on Saturday morning to try and save the building.

Fire investigators will determine whether a train from the West Somerset railway was to blame.

A buildings inspector from Taunton Deane Borough Council was called in to assess the structure of the building.

The fire caused serious traffic delays along the A358 and motorists were warned to steer clear of the area.
