The controversial rising bollards can catch drivers unawares

People living in Cambridge are campaigning against council proposals to put up rising bollards in Silver Street.
Around 340 people in Newnham have signed a locally-organised petition.
They say the extra signs that would be put in place would spoil the historic area.
The city already has seven sets of the bollards, which are automatically lowered by an electronic tag given to taxis and buses.
Since the first set was installed in 1992, several cars driven by unwary motorists have been damaged by them.
Opponents of the Silver Street plan have canvassed their Liberal Democrat councillor Sian Reid.
She says she hopes the council will listen to local opposition before it makes its decision on 7 April.
There are better ways of controlling the number of vehicles using the historic street, she said and suggested CCTV cameras could be used to deter cars from driving down there.
The road links the city centre to routes leading out of town.
