Man charged with girl's murder

Jade died three days after being taken to hospital
A 23-year-old man has appeared in court accused of murdering a three-year-old girl.

Jade Louise Sinclair died of severe head injuries after being found at her home in Thorseway Drive, Lincoln six days ago.

She was rushed to Lincoln County Hospital and later transferred to Sheffield's Children's Hospital, where she died three days later.

Steven Barton appeared before a special sitting of Lincoln Magistrates' Court on Saturday charged with her murder.

Mr Barton, of no fixed address, spoke only to confirm his name during the brief hearing.

He was remanded in custody to appear before Lincoln Crown Court on 4 April.

There was no application for bail.
