Police have released pictures of tattoos found on a drowned man's body in a bid to try and identify him.

They hope the tattoos will be recognised and lead to the identification of the man who was found in Dartford Creek, in Dartford, by a passer-by at about 1110 GMT on 2 March.

Kent Police say there are no suspicious circumstances surrounding the man's death, but they are keen to find out who he was.

He had tattoos of a bulldog above the word England, a dagger through a heart, a bird similar to a liver bird or phoenix and a dog.

'High security key'

Police are unsure how long the man had been dead, and whether or not he entered the water where he was found or was washed in from the London area.

Detective Sergeant Ian McCarthy said: "The man may have been in the water for sometime so it is possible that he was washed in from the London area or he may even have entered the water close to the Dartford area.

"We are particularly interested in the key which we have been told is a high security key probably made for a particular security system and bears the code BAAEC."

The man was wearing a blue hooded jacket with the words New York on the front, a navy blue t-shirt, black Next jeans and black Reebok trainers.
