Island flights to be cut
Aurigny Air Services plane
Daily flights between the islands are to be cut from 14 to nine
A Channel Islands airline is cutting the number of daily flights between Jersey and Guernsey.

But Aurigny Air Services is providing more seats at peak travelling times.

The company is introducing a new Shorts 360 aircraft to offer more seats at certain times of the day.

Aurigny managing director Malcolm Hart said the changes were wanted by the travelling public.

He said: "We publish about 14 round trips a day on our timetable at present, and that is being cut to nine.

"But if there are days when there is extra demand, special events are taking place or sporting clubs need transport, we have got aircraft on standby."

Aurigny has served the Channel Islands since 1968 and employs more than 200 staff.
