Two men have appeared in court charged with stealing more than £1m from Gatwick Airport.

Ian Burr and Gary Mullen, both 35, spoke only to confirm their names during a hearing at Bow Street Magistrates' Court in London on Friday.

The pair are accused of stealing £1,123,639 belonging to HSBC Bank from a cargo warehouse at the airport on 27 March.

Mr Burr, from Aylesbury Drive, Basildon, Essex, and Mr Mullen, of Sudbury, Beckton, London, were arrested after a joint operation between Scotland Yard Flying Squad and Sussex Police.
