Police have accused residents of a Manchester estate of ignoring car crime which is putting their lives in danger.
A senior officer said police were "getting no support" from the community after a spate of car thefts and robberies in south Manchester.
In the latest incident on the Merseybank estate, Chorlton, a stolen Porsche was driven around at high speed.
Detective Constable David McCulloch, of Greater Manchester Police, said that the lack of help from residents had made their job "a lot harder".
Two men stole the Porsche from Grove Lane, Didsbury, on Thursday after walking into the owner's house and punching him before taking the keys.
Det Con McCulloch said: "At the moment we feel that we are not getting support from the community to stop this type of behaviour."
Two killed
Two people have been killed in hit and run accidents in south Manchester since the beginning of February.
Det Con McCulloch added: "I would appeal to residents of the estate to think about their children and their loved ones and how information we received could help prevent any further fatalities.
"Our job of stopping this type of crime is made a lot harder when we do not get the assistance from those who could really help us."
A 20-year-old man from Chorlton has been arrested and was due to be questioned on Friday about the Porsche robbery.
