Afghan aid worker shot dead
An aid worker with the International Committee of the Red Cross in Afghanistan has been shot dead by unknown assailants.

The Red Cross said the Salvadoran national - who worked as a water engineer - had been killed in the Oruzgan province in central Afghanistan.

It said he was shot by armed assailants who stopped the car in which he was travelling with Afghan colleagues.
