Plans for a £12m bypass in Cambridgeshire have been approved.
For about 15 years residents of Fordham have been calling for a bypass to rid the village of congestion from the A142.
Now Cambridgeshire County Council has approved a plan for a 2.2 mile bypass.
The council still has to wait for the results of a public inquiry from a government inspector before work can start.
The new bypass will include provision for a pedestrian and cycle link between Fordham and Soham Village College.
