The family made an emotional appeal for witnesses
The family of a murdered Hull man have made an appeal for information about his death.

Geoff Lyon, 31, was found with severe head injuries on the steps of Mecca Bingo, Anlaby Road, on Sunday morning.

He was taken to Hull Royal Infirmary where he died later that day.

Four people who were questioned by police over the death have been released without charge.

On Thursday, Mr Lyon's widow Kathryn told a press conference she faces the prospect of raising their family alone.

She said: "I sat with Geoff in the hospital and held his hand and told him how much we loved him.

"My children can't even go and see their father for one last time because of the horrific injuries he received."

She added: "Geoff was mine and our children's world.

"There were a lot of people about that night, somebody must know something."

Mr Lyon's father, also called Geoff, said: "It's an absolute nightmare.

"We can't live with it, we just can't live with it."
