Trial date set for So Solid pair
So Solid Crew
The band hail from south London
Two members of the garage music group So Solid Crew have been remanded in custody after pleading not guilty to firearms offences.

Shane Neil and Jason Phillips, both 24, appeared at Bow Street Magistrates Court in London for a hearing to set a date for their trial.

The pair have been committed to Southwark Crown Court, London, for trial on 9 June.

Mr Neil from Battersea, south London, pleaded not guilty to possession of a gun and ammunition and supplying drugs.

Mr Phillips, the band's executive producer also known as G-Man, of Lambeth, south London, declined to make a formal plea without "proper representation".

But the judge, George Bathhurst-Norman, ordered not guilty pleas to be entered on charges of possession of a handgun and three counts of possession of ammunition.

The pair were arrested following an incident near London's Leicester Square in November.

Mr Neil, whose stage name is Kaish, and Mr Phillips were remanded in custody as they await trial.

About 12 supporters sat in the court's public gallery to lend their support to the pair who are part of the 30-strong garage collective.
