Campaigners fighting demolition plans
Campaigners fighting plans to demolish hundreds of homes on Hull's Orchard Park Estate are urging residents not to give up hope.

And a public meeting is being held on Thursday evening in an effort to rally support and bring tenants up to date with the latest developments.

Organisers of the campaign against plans by Hull City Council want residents should push forward with their arguments against demolition.

Thursday's meeting at 1930 GMT at Sir Henry Cooper School will focus on the regeneration of the area.

The city council say up to 2,000 homes need to be disposed of over the next few years.

Councillor Trevor Larsen will be attending the meeting to listen to the views of residents.

He said: "I've always made my position extremely clear, I don't believe in mass demolition."

And added: "We're talking about people's homes."
