Police hunt men who robbed bookmakers

Police are appealing for information to help catch the robbers
Police in Northamptonshire are hunting two robbers who escaped with cash from a bookmakers.

The men threatened a member of staff at Semilong Racing, in Northampton, at a 1715 GMT on Wednesday saying they had a gun.

They escaped with cash into Marriott Street.

In Barrack Road they got into a red car, driven by a third man, and drove away.

Police described the first robber as black, 6 feet tall, of medium build.

Staff member 'shaken'

He was wearing a dark coloured hooded fleece. His face was covered.

The second man was described as also black, 5 ft 6 ins tall, of small build, aged 25 to 30. He had a goatee beard.

A Northamptonshire Police spokeswoman said that although the robbers threatened they had a gun, no gun was produced.

She said the member of staff was not injured, but was "shaken" by the incident.
