Police are conducting inquires after the shooting
A gunman who shot a man in Sheffield could have been waiting for his victim, say police

And the 50-year-old man who was shot in the leg in the attack in the Parson Cross area of the city has had a leg amputated below the knee in the Northern General Hospital.

Police investigating the shooting say it happened just after 00.30GMT on Wednesday in Hallgate Avenue.

Detectives have been carrying out house-to-house inquiries in the area and had closed of minor roads while forensic experts examined the scene.
