Housing row over sick daughter
The interior of the house in Rugeley, Staffordshire
Leah Newbold says the house is unsuitable
A young mother says she cannot bring her sick daughter home from hospital because the council has offered her an "unliveable" house.

Leah Newbold's daughter Samara has undergone eight operations in 14 months after she was born weighing less than 2 lbs.

The little girl needs oxygen treatment and must be fed through a tube.

Ms Newbold, who also has two boys, said she fears for Samara's health if she moves into the house in Rugeley, Staffordshire.

Nice neighbourhood

"I was shocked - very, very shocked.

"I suppose I expected a little bit better, especially when they want you to move in next week.

"It's not even liveable, let alone moving in with three children. I really do think it's awful."

A spokesperson for Cannock Chase Council said the property is in a good area and that all it needs is some piping for an oxygen supply.
