Man 'stabbed to death after row'
A man was stabbed to death after getting into an argument with a fellow tenant at his girlfriend's home, a court has been told.

Shane Cam suffered 17 wounds, including one to his heart, and died in hospital after the incident in Fleetwood, Lancashire, in October 2002.

John Wilson, 32, of Chaucer Road, Fleetwood, pleaded not guilty at Preston Crown Court to murdering Mr Cam.

The court was told Mr Cam's girlfriend, Christine Beesley, was a joint tenant with Mr Wilson at a house in Chaucer Road.

Mr Wilson had decided to move out a week after signing a new tenancy agreement.

'Picked up a knife'

Tim Holroyde QC, prosecuting, said Mr Cam had received a text message from his girlfriend and gone to the house.

The two men then argued and the accused picked up a knife, claimed Mr Holroyde.

Mr Cam was then seen staggering out, covered in blood and died later in hospital.

The defendant told police he had been woken by a slap to the face from Mr Cam who then threatened to attack him with a mallet.

The trial continues.
