East Park revamp hit by delays
Children at play
Work should have started in April
A planned revamp of East Park in Hull is being held up by red tape.

The £7m regeneration plan is being financed by the Heritage Lottery Fund and Hull City Council.

Plans were approved in July 2002 and it was hoped work would start in April.

But now the council has been forced to retender the contract because of EU regulations.

This could set the project back by several months.

However, officials say the funding is not in jeopardy.

The plans for East Park include the construction of a learning centre and improvements to the mini zoo.
