Sport and leisure plan revamped

Local communities can be developed through sport
A Somerset council wants to hear from local residents about what sports and recreation activities they want.

Bath and North East Somerset Council is rethinking its leisure strategy, and has launched a consultation exercise to find out what locals think.

Anyone interested should contact the council for a Consultation Paper, and return their comments by 28 February.

The plan is for the local authority to work more closely with schools and sports clubs.

Ian Munday, sport and leisure development manager, said: "We want to help people to learn and participate in sport by developing opportunities and providing structures that allow them to improve."
