WH Smith boss in Palace honours
Buckingham Palace
Mrs Hodson received the award at the Palace
The managing director of WH Smith's UK retail operation has received an OBE at Buckingham Palace.

Brenda Hodson, from Cirencester, described the experience as "amazing", adding that it was a once in a lifetime opportunity to be at the palace.

Mrs Hodson received the award on Thursday for services to the retail sector.

She plans to encourage greater literary skills by selling more educational products in WH Smith stores.

"I was delighted to receive this award, she said.

It is a great honour not just for me but for all the people that I have worked with over the years."
