Police 'open-minded' on house fire body
Fire engine
The fire brigade was called at 1145 GMT on Thursday
Detectives investigating after a woman's body was found at a house fire in Eastbourne cannot yet say if her death was suspicious.

An ambulance crew found the woman after arriving at Upper Avenue, Eastbourne, on Thursday when a member of the public called 999.

A spokesman for Sussex Police said officers would have to wait for the results of a postmortem examination before deciding how to proceed.

He said on Thursday evening detectives were keeping an open mind.

A spokeswoman for East Sussex Fire Brigade said the service was called to the address by the ambulance crew at 1145 GMT.

But when the firefighters arrived, the fire had already gone out.

The spokeswoman said there had been a small fire at the property and scenes of crime officers were investigating.
