Police appeal after racial assault
South Yorkshire Police
South Yorkshire Police are investigating the incident
A group of three black men have been the victims of a racial attack in a South Yorkshire village.

The incident took place outside the Nite Owl nightclub on Common Road, Brierley, near Barnsley between 0100 and 0145 GMT on Sunday.

The three men suffered bruising after being attacked by a group of 15 white men, all aged between 18 and 30.

Police believe the assault was racially motivated following an earlier incident inside the nightclub involving a 16-year-old Gambian youth and two 22-year-old black friends.

They managed to flee their attackers and did not need hospital treatment for their injuries.

South Yorkshire Police have appealed for witnesses who may have seen either incident to come forward.
