Residents block city parking
Fencing and bins were used to keep cars out
Angry residents have barricaded streets near Belfast city centre to prevent motorists parking their cars there.

Bins, bollards and fencing were put across Stewart Street, Eliza Street and Raphael Street in the Markets area of the city on Thursday.

Police cautioned two protesters for obstructing the public highway.

However, Deirdre Hargey from the Markets Community Watch Group, said constant parking there was a nuisance and a public danger.

"It is free parking for them and it is easy access to the city centre as we are one of the closest areas to the city centre," she said.

"Basically our major problem is a safety concern in relation to access for emergency services."
