Man in court over teenager's murder
Sarah Robson
Sarah's body was found 400 yards from her home
A man has appeared in court charged with the murder of a 14-year-old girl in Northumberland.

The body of Sarah Robson was found in a field just 400 yards from her home in Cramlington, on Tuesday evening.

Thomas Davis, 18, appeared at South East Northumberland Magistrates' Court in Bedlington on Thursday, charged with her murder.

The defendant, of Deneside, Seghill, Northumberland, entered no plea.

No application for bail was made and he was remanded in custody to appear before Newcastle Crown Court on 20 February.

Sarah's fully-clothed body was discovered by police at 2100 GMT on Tuesday, the day her parents, John and Lynn, celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary.

Her brothers Ian, 18, and Chris, 20, had already searched the area around the family home in Reedswood Crescent when she failed to return home.
